Europe's Biggest Gig: Belgium's Sylvie Kreusch joins international radio event

Five European radio stations are joining forces for Europe's Biggest Gig, a groundbreaking live music event that brings together up-and-coming artists from five countries for a simultaneous cross-border broadcast. Belgian singer-songwriter Sylvie Kreusch is among the performers, VRT NWS reports.
Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) - the organisation behind the Eurovision Song Contest - the initiative aims to highlight Europe's vibrant live music scene. The format mirrors the successful Europe's Biggest Dance Show, which has showcased electronic music talent from across the continent.
Kreusch, a three-time Music Industry Award winner, takes centre stage with her new second solo album, Comic Trip. As she prepares for a European tour and festival season, Tuesday's event is an important platform for her.
A variety of musical styles
In addition to Kreusch, four other artists will be showcasing their talents. Nia Smith, a London-based artist who fuses reggae, soul and dancehall, will represent the UK, while pop-rock singer-songwriter Orla Gartland is Ireland's representative. Berq, who fuses German-language pop with electronic and percussive elements, is the event's only male performer. Icelandic folk singer-songwriter Elín Hall completes the group of five.
Each of the five participating radio stations will host a half-hour feature, giving the artists the opportunity to reach an international audience. Studio Brussel, a radio station of the public broadcaster VRT, will host the third segment at 20.30.
Other radio stations taking part in Europe's Biggest Gig are BBC Radio 1, RTÉ 2FM, 1LIVE and Rás 2.
