EnergyVision tests mini rooftop wind turbines

Belgian energy company EnergyVision is testing small rooftop wind turbines designed for private homes. The first results look promising, according to CEO Maarten Michielssens.
Already known for its solar panels, electric charging points and energy supply, EnergyVision is exploring an extra way to help households generate their own green power. Even during the darker winter months when sunlight is scarce.
The company is currently testing “The Blade X1”, a compact vertical wind turbine developed by Dutch start-up Cell Technologies. The unit stands about one metre high (roughly the size of a chimney) and has ten small blades that capture wind from all directions.
Michielssens says the early tests show potential, but the company will only roll out the turbines once their performance and profitability are confirmed. A final decision is expected within six months.
The goal fits into EnergyVision’s broader plan to phase out gas by 2030 and help households switch to heat pumps powered by locally produced renewable energy.
