Elections 2024: Extreme right fails to become biggest party in Flanders

With about half of the votes counted, Vlaams Belang, the extreme right party in Flanders, failed in its goal to become the biggest party in the region. Flemish nationalist N-VA probably remains the biggest party.

The main losers of the elections are green party Groen and liberal party Open VLD, of federal prime minister Alexander De Croo.

Communist PVDA/PTB wins, but stays below 10 per cent of votes. In Wallonia the result of the party is higher.

In Brussels, the liberal party MR becomes the biggest party, surpassing socialist PS.
