DEME reaffirms annual targets after strong start to 2025

Belgian maritime services provider DEME has reported a strong start to 2025. With a turnover of 993 million euros in the first quarter, the company saw a 10 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The order book remained stable at 7.6 billion euros, up from 7.5 billion euros a year ago. Notably, this figure does not yet reflect the recent acquisition of the Norwegian offshore wind company Havfram, the largest takeover in the company’s history.

Revenue growth was primarily driven by the Offshore Energy division, which saw a 36 per cent increase to 532 million euros - attributed to high fleet activity and efficient project execution. In contrast, the Dredging & Infra segment recorded an 8 per cent decline, while the Environmental division saw an 18 per cent drop.

DEME, based in Zwijndrecht, described the beginning of the year as a “solid start” and reaffirmed its positive outlook for 2025. The company expects both revenue and gross profit margins to be at least in line with those of the previous year.

Planned capital investments remain around 300 million euros, excluding the impact of the Havfram acquisition and the expected delivery of two new installation vessels at the end of 2025 and early 2026.
