Collaboration between Rock Werchter and Tomorrowland kicks off Belgian festival summer
The Belgian festival summer kicks off today with the start of CORE Festival. The two day festival takes place on Friday and Saturday in the Ossegempark in Brussels, in the shadow of the Atomium, and is the result of a collaboration between Rock Werchter and Tomorrowland.
"We were looking for a location in an urban environment, but also with enough nature. That's how we ended up at the Ossegempark in Brussels. It is an area with level differences, large trees and water features." said Tomorrowland employee Debby Wilmsen to VRT NWS.
The organizers aim to offer a mix of music and art. There will be four stages that will host artists from a variety of genres, from hip hop to electronic music. Visitors will also be able to enjoy several art installations, such as the time-lapse movie Fantastic Fungi by artist Louie Schwartzberg.
CORE Festival aims for 25.000 visitors each day.
"We have started well and expect more tickets to be sold," Wilmsen said. "We hope that the visitors have a good feeling about the festival, so that in the coming years we can focus even more on the experience."
Tickets for both days are still available, prices start from €72.
