Cineville film subscription expands to Flanders, targets 10,000 subscribers
Cineville, a subscription service allowing unlimited cinema visits at a range of affiliated theatres, is expanding to Flanders. Film enthusiasts in the region can now visit seven cinemas for a fixed monthly fee.
Cineville began in the Netherlands and arrived in Belgium in 2022, starting with four small cinemas in Brussels before expanding to Wallonia. Now, on the second anniversary of its Belgian launch, Flanders joins the roster.
Film lovers in the region can visit seven theatres with their Cineville pass: Lumière cinemas in Bruges, Mechelen, and Antwerp (the latter including Antwerp’s Cinema Cartoon’s), as well as Sphinx in Ghent, De Cinema in Antwerp, and Cinema ZED in Leuven. In the coming months, Ciné4 in Nivelles and KASKcinema in Ghent will also join the network.
The subscription costs €18 per month for those under 26, and €21 per month for older subscribers. It also grants access to eight cinemas in Brussels and six in Wallonia.
Cineville currently has over 8,500 subscribers in Belgium. By the end of the year, it wants to reach 10,000 paying subscribers. In the Netherlands, where the service has been active since 2008, there are 90,000 members.
In 2024, Belgian subscribers had already made over 155,000 cinema visits, surpassing the 125,000 visits recorded in 2023.
