Ceasefire between Iran and US takes effect 'immediately', Pakistan says

The temporary ceasefire between Iran, the United States and "their allies" takes effect immediately, Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif reported on X on Tuesday night. According to him, the truce applies everywhere, including in Lebanon.
Pakistan is mediating between Tehran and Washington and will receive delegations from both countries on Friday to continue negotiations on "a definitive agreement to settle all disputes". "Both parties have displayed remarkable wisdom and understanding and have remained constructively engaged in furthering the cause of peace and stability," Sharif wrote.
The two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran does not apply to Lebanon, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Wednesday morning.
