Brussels will host Christian youth event during papal visit
During Pope Francis’ visit to Belgium in September, dozens of Christian youth associations will host an event for young people from Belgium and abroad in Brussels.
Hope Happening, which draws inspiration from World Youth Day, will include pilgrimages, workshops around faith and spirituality, and a music festival.
Consisting of six parts, the event will kick off on 28 September with a Walk of Hope. Other activities include the City of Hope, where workshops on faith and youth will take place, and Circle of Hope, where speakers will seek to inspire young people on religious engagement. There will also be a collective prayer moment in the evening.
The organisation will also offer Music of Hope, a festival where several Christian music groups will perform in different genres. The DJ-priest Padre Guilherme will close down the party. Participants can spend the night at an indoor campsite at Heysel.
The event is open to young people aged between 12 and 30. Registration opens on 6 August.
