Brussels-South railway station evacuated due to two suspicious packages

Brussels-South railway station was completely evacuated on Monday evening after two suspicious packages were found. Train services have been completely suspended and the metro station is also being evacuated.

According to the federal police, two suspicious packages were found in the station at around 5.20 pm, one on a train on platform 20 and one on platform 18. Both the railway station and the metro station have been evacuated, and several police teams are now searching both stations.

The army’s bomb disposal unit, DOVO, has also been called in to examine both packages. It is not yet clear whether trains can be diverted.
