Brussels Pride 2025: A march for rights in troubled times

Brussels Pride returns on 17 May under the banner "Unite, time to protect our rights", with organisers calling for renewed vigilance as LGBTQIA+ rights come under increasing political pressure across Europe.
Organised by visit.brussels and RainbowHouse Brussels, the event aims to defend equality, dignity and inclusion amid growing global threats to LGBTQIA+ rights. "The Brussels Pride is a moment to peacefully remind political leaders of their obligations to uphold international human rights conventions," says RainbowHouse.
Pride Week kicks off on 7 May with more than 60 events celebrating the resilience and culture of LGBTQIA+ communities. The Pride itself will take place on 17 May at 14:30 from the Mont des Arts, winding its way through the centre of Brussels in a festive yet determined display of solidarity.
International delegations
Delegations from Hungary, Serbia, Italy and Romania - countries where rights are increasingly being curtailed - will join the march, underlining its international significance. Organisers expect more than 180,000 people to fill the streets.
In addition to the Pride and Rainbow Villages, this year's event will feature a Safer Zone on the Mont des Arts, offering psychological and medical support in a calm environment. This initiative underlines the organisers' commitment to inclusivity and care, ensuring that Pride remains not only a celebration but also a space of solidarity and protection in the face of growing hostility.
