Brussels Airport welcomed 4.4 million passengers in July and August

Between July 1 and August 31, Brussels Airport welcomed 4.4 million passengers, or 81% of the number of passengers in the summer of 2019, before the pandemic, the country’s leading airport announced this Saturday 10 September.

The more than positive result exceeds initial estimates, thanks in particular to a greater number of Dutch travellers, but also thanks to last-minute bookings for the summer holidays.

"After two summers subject to numerous travel restrictions, the success of this summer bears witness to the recovery of the entire aviation sector,” rejoices Brussels Airport in a press release.

The airport also indicates that it has nearly 600 vacant jobs, “which slightly exceeds the average level before the Covid crisis.”
