Brussels Airlines will resume flights to Israel in March
Brussels Airlines will resume its route to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, from 24 March. The flights will have been suspended for almost six months since the beginning of the conflict between Israel and the extremist Palestinian organisation Hamas in early October.
While many airlines have continued to suspend their flights to the region, other companies, such as Lufthansa and Swiss and Austrian Airlines, have been flying to Israel again since the beginning of January.
Brussels Airlines has experienced little demand for tickets to Israel in this period, however, "bookings are evolving", the airline said, "and after extensive analysis and with additional safety measures", it was decided to restart flights from 24 March. In the first phase, the company will offer three flights per week.
"The safety of our passengers and employees is still our top priority. We continue to closely monitor the situation in the region and remain in contact with the relevant authorities. Brussels Airlines will act accordingly if circumstances change," the company stated.
The flights are provisionally scheduled until the end of April. "Flight frequencies and hours can be adjusted at a later stage, in close cooperation with the other airlines of the Lufthansa Group," said the airline.
