Brussels Airlines to resume flights to Tel Aviv from mid-August

Brussels Airlines will resume flights to the Israeli city of Tel Aviv from 13 August, the airline announced on Wednesday.

The carrier had suspended operations to and from Tel Aviv for several months at the end of last year and the beginning of this year due to tensions in the Middle East. Flights briefly resumed in early February but were suspended again in May as violence in the region flared up once more.

"Following a thorough security assessment, Lufthansa Group airlines will resume flights to Tel Aviv from 1 August," the company's statement reads. Brussels Airlines will restart its service from 13 August, with two flights per week.

"Safety remains our highest priority. We continue to closely monitor the situation in the region and may adjust our flight schedule if necessary," the airline added.
