Belgium to showcase its talent at Gamescom 2025

From 20 to 24 August, Cologne will once again host Gamescom, Europe’s biggest video games fair. The event is expected to welcome more than 1,500 exhibitors from 72 countries. Belgium will be there in full force, hoping to stand out in a crowded industry.
Nearly 60 Belgian studios and professionals will travel to Germany. For the first time, the country will have two separate stands: one for Wallonia, and another for Flanders together with Brussels. The split is meant to be practical: Wallonia is home mainly to start-ups and student projects, while Flanders counts larger studios.
Jean Gréban of Walga, the Walloon games federation, says that the southern region is focusing on visibility, skills and international contacts, with markets such as Brazil and Asia in mind. He believes Belgium’s strength lies in the independent games sector, which is financially less risky than blockbuster “triple-A” titles like GTA VI.

Some of the Belgian games on show include the puzzle-horror Time To Wake Up, the survival game Jester: A Foolish Ritual, and the gentle exploration title Nayu, featuring an adventurous little otter.
While the fair opens to the public on Thursday, most Belgian teams will focus on the professional days starting Wednesday, where industry connections are made.
