Belgium presents 'Wunderbar', its fan-made anthem for Euro 2024
The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) officially unveiled its UEFA Euro 2024 anthem and music video on Monday. The song is called 'Wunderbar' and was created with the help of Red Devils fans.
1,500 Red Devils fans recorded the song at the ING Arena in Brussels on 5 May. 150 drummers, 150 singers, 150 bassists and 150 guitarists provided the music, while another 1,000 fans, including 50 whistlers, created a stadium-like atmosphere.
Manu Leroy, RBFA's director of communications and marketing, described the song as "a phenomenal result". "We have kicked off the summer of football and our ambition is to score twice: on the radio and on the pitch."
A stripped-down version of the band will perform the Euro song live at the King Baudouin Stadium next Saturday, at half-time and at the end of the friendly against Luxembourg.
UEFA Euro 2024 officially kicks off on Friday 14 June. Belgium will play matches against Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine on 17, 22 and 26 June respectively.
