Belgium drops another 16 tonnes of aid over Gaza Strip

The Belgian army has carried out a second airdrop of humanitarian aid over the Gaza Strip, defence minister Theo Francken announced on Monday.
Sixteen tonnes of supplies were delivered by A400M transport aircraft as part of Cerulean Skies 2, a multinational emergency relief effort coordinated by Jordan. The mission involved troops from the 15th Wing and the Special Operations Regiment.
The aid, which included pasta, rice, canned goods and powdered milk, was flown from Melsbroek military airbase to Jordan on Friday. On Sunday, a Belgian army aircraft dropped 15 tonnes of humanitarian supplies over the Gaza Strip.
The military dropped a total of 164.3 tonnes of aid in March last year. The next mission is planned for Wednesday, Francken said.
