Belgian postal service tests reusable packaging

Bpost has started a test whereby parcels will be delivered in reusable packaging. This was announced by the postal company on Thursday. Empty packages can simply be put back in the letter box.
For the test, Bpost is working with the French reusable packaging manufacturer Hipli. Customers who order something from clothing stores Torfs, A.S. Adventure and Juttu will have their parcels sent in such packaging. There is no extra charge.
Customers can deposit the empty packaging in a red Bpost post box, in a post office or at a parcel point. Bpost then has the packaging cleaned and returns it to the e-commerce network.
According to the company, the waterproof and tear-resistant packaging can be reused up to 100 times. They are therefore much more environmentally friendly than cardboard packaging.
The test runs at Torfs between 29 June and 29 September, with some 4,000 packages. At A.S. Adventure and Juttu the test starts in August, and 2,000 packages will be used.
