Belgian investment funds closed 2025 at a record high

Investment funds distributed in Belgium closed 2025 with a record 337.8 billion euros in assets, 9.1 per cent more than at the end of 2024, according to sector federation Beama.

The first quarter of 2025 still recorded a decline in net assets, driven entirely by price losses. Each of the following three quarters then posted gains, lifting the year's total to a new high.

Beama said 60 per cent of the year's increase stemmed from new money flowing into the funds, with the rest coming from capital gains.

Early figures for the first quarter of 2026 point to a slight decline in net assets across the Belgian fund sector, the federation added.
