Belgian Foreign minister starts working visit to US, focused on pharma and health

On Monday, Belgian Foreign minister Hadja Lahbib started a working visit to Washington and Boston in the United States. The pharma and health sectors are the focus of her visit, which will last until Thursday.

The minister will land in the US capital on Monday evening and has several meetings on the agenda with diplomats and businessmen involved in the pharmaceutical industry. Lahbib will attend a conference on pharmaceutical supply chain security at the Brookings Institute, a US think tank.

In Boston, she is visiting Thermo Fischer, a company specialising in materials for research and laboratory analysis, and the Koch Institute, active in cancer research. Lahbib is also visiting the Belgian company DEME, which is developing an offshore wind farm in the state of Massachusetts.
