Belgian aerospace company Sonaca formalises acquisition of Spanish firm Aciturri

Walloon aircraft parts manufacturer Sonaca is now officially the majority shareholder in Spanish company Aciturri. The ambition is to create a new European aviation champion.
Sonaca and Aciturri first announced the transaction at the end of December 2024. Sonaca is acquiring 51 per cent of the aviation structures division of the Spanish family business. The transaction was officially ratified in Spain on Friday.
The new industrial group created by the acquisition employs 6,700 people in seven countries, with a combined turnover of 1.2 billion euros this year. Sonaca accounts for 700 million euros of this.
The acquisition creates the third-largest player worldwide in components. In Europe, they will be number one. While Sonaca is strong in metal components, Aciturri specialises in the production of composite components.
The new group will also be active in three strategic areas: aviation, defence and aerospace.
