AXA Bank is integrated into Crelan
From Monday, the banks Crelan and AXA Bank will be fully integrated into one entity, called Crelan. The transfer of data from AXA Bank to Crelan's systems was completed this weekend.
Crelan took over AXA Bank in December 2021. The merger created Belgium's fifth-largest bank, behind BNP Paribas Fortis, Belfius, ING and KBC.
To complete the merger, the data of about 840,000 AXA customers and 330 bank branches needed to be transferred and integrated into Crelan’s IT platform. This major operation took place this weekend.
Due to the integration of the two banks' systems, Crelan's app and home banking platform have been unavailable this weekend. Online payments and payments via Payconiq's QR code in shops haven’t been possible either and at the bank's ATMs people could only withdraw cash.
This will change on Monday. Initially, the app and PC banking platform will just be accessible in a light version with only a few functions. This will free up extra capacity for AXA Bank customers to switch to Crelan's digital channels. Customers should be able to use the various channels again in the course of Monday morning.
