Atlantic Wall Raversyde receives European Heritage Award

The Battery Aachen won in the category 'conservation and conversion'. The bronze plaque was officially handed over to Atlantikwall Raversyde on Friday.
The battery is the only German coastal battery from the First World War of which enough remains to understand its structure. During the Second World War, Battery Aachen was reused as part of the Atlantic Wall.
