Arnaud De Lie sprints to WorldTour victory in Plouay

On Sunday, Belgian rider Arnaud De Lie (Lotto) won the Bretagne Classic in Plouay, outsprinting a reduced peloton after 261 hilly kilometres. Just one week after his double victory at the Renewi Tour, he secured another WorldTour win. It's his 30th professional victory.
De Lie finished ahead of Frenchman Emilien Jeannière (TotalEnergies) and Dutchman Olav Kooij (Visma | Lease a Bike), with the next-best Belgian, Jasper Stuyven (Lidl–Trek), in tenth place.
Despite the absence of former winner Wout van Aert, Belgium fielded a strong line-up, including Tim Wellens, Maxim Van Gils, Thibau Nys, Cian Uijtdebroeks and Tiesj Benoot. The race was characterised by frequent attacks, with local favourite Valentin Madouas (Groupama–FDJ) leading solo late on before being caught inside the final kilometre.
De Lie won the sprint convincingly, succeeding Marc Hirschi of Switzerland as winner. Van Aert remains the last Belgian to have taken the title, having won in 2022.
