Antwerp's museums and cultural institutions open up for Museum Night

Nineteen Antwerp museums and cultural institutions will open on Saturday evening for the 17th edition of Museum Night. Visitors are welcome until 1.00, after which the MAS is hosting an after-party.

Museum Night gives visitors access to all participating venues with one ticket. Most museums will be open until midnight, with a variety of activities and guided tours. A Museum Night ticket also comes with a free Velo day pass, making it easy to get between the venues.

MAS, Vleeshuis and FOMU are among the participating museums, as well as the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp. The museum, which reopened last autumn, is celebrating its return to Museum Night this year with special tours of the museum, an Instagram tour and a Twilight tour. There will also be a cocktail bar and a live radio broadcast describing works of art for people with visual impairments.

Outdoor activities

Activities also take place outside the museums. The Fashion Museum is organising guided walks on fashion and sustainability. Mini concerts are planned for the Friday market at the Plantin-Moretus Museum. Several venues will also offer visitors the chance to work in their studios.

Museum Night is an annual event in various Belgian cities, as well as in the Netherlands and Suriname.
