About 200,000 people expected at Belgium's biggest flea market in Temploux
Between 180,000 and 200,000 people are expected this weekend at the 46th edition of the Temploux flea market in the province of Namur. The small Namur village of around 2,000 inhabitants each year hosts Belgium's biggest flea market.
The organisers remind visitors that only used antique items may be displayed. “We do not accept clothing, for example,” explained Frédéric Renaux, president of the non-profit organisation Brocante Temploux. “That's what makes us who we are, but it's also what gives our flea market its reputation.”
“Belgium's biggest flea market”, with a route of about 6 km long, will also be enlivened by numerous activities, such as the traditional parade of vintage Volkswagen cars and the Lego Brick Mania exhibition. On Saturday evening, there will be fireworks. On Sunday, a comic book festival will welcome a dozen artists.
