48 top Antwerp restaurants open doors for Smaakmeesters Deluxe

Antwerp is hosting the third edition of its food festival Smaakmeesters Deluxe from 9 February to 1 March. For three weeks, 48 top restaurants across the city will offer special lunch or dinner menus at reduced prices, starting from €50 per person.

All participating venues are highly rated, either by Michelin or Gault&Millau. The festival is the more exclusive version of the autumn event Smaakmeesters, which features more restaurants at lower prices. With both festivals, Antwerp aims to strengthen its image as the culinary capital of Flanders, home to 13 Michelin-starred restaurants.

Prices range from €50 to €120 at one-star Michelin restaurants, €150 at two-star venues and €180 at three-star restaurants. Diners also receive an extra, such as an aperitif, amuse-bouche or small gift.

Alderman for Tourism and Local Economy Koen Kennis said the event gives residents and visitors a great chance to enjoy some of the city’s best restaurants at more accessible prices.

Well-known names taking part include Zilte, The Jane, Le Pristine, Hertog Jan at Botanic, Nathan and Maritime.
