27 Belgian wines receive award at Gault&Millau guide presentation

The third edition of the Gault&Millau Wine Guide Belgium and the Belgian Wine Awards 2025 have revealed that the main wine estates in Belgium are located in the provinces of Limburg and Namur. 27 Belgian wines won awards on Monday during the presentation of the wine guide at the Hôtel des Douanes in Brussels.
The Belgian wine sector continues to develop at a rapid pace. The latest edition of the Gault&Millau Wine Guide Belgium includes a total of 24 new wine estates and 29 new wines. This brings the total number of wine estates to 123 and the number of wines to 236. Of all these Belgian wine estates, 63 were awarded the “Coup de Coeur” label, and 27 wines can now also call themselves winners of the Belgian Wine Award 2025.
The Belgian wine sector currently has a total of 320 registered producers, but continues to grow. “Together, they cultivate approximately 950 hectares of vineyards,” stated Gault&Millau. “In addition to this quantitative expansion, we are also seeing a clear improvement in quality.”
Limburg and Namur
The wine estates in Limburg and Namur are doing particularly well. Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen and Schorpion, both from Limburg, for example won awards. Kitsberg, Clos d'Opleeuw and Gloire de Duras are also highly praised Limburg wine estates. For Namur, Domaine La Falize, Château Bon Baron and Domaine du Ry D'Argent received Belgian Wine Awards 2025.
The Antwerp wine estate Het Eiken Vat and the Mikken Urban Winery and Monteberg from West Flanders are also among the top wine estates in Belgium. And with Domaine du Chant d'Eole and Domaine Mont des Anges, Hainaut is also represented in the list. Finally, several estates from Liège, East Flanders and Walloon Brabant successfully competed for the title as well.
