2,500 artists open their studio doors in Flanders and Brussels
More than 2,500 artists in Flanders and Brussels are opening the doors of their studios this weekend, 4 and 5 May, for the third edition of Atelier in Beeld (Atelier in Focus). Visitors can take a peek behind the scenes of over 1,500 studios.
Atelier in Beeld is the big open studio weekend for visual artists across Flanders and Brussels. It's an ideal opportunity to get to know unique places of artistic creation in Flanders and Brussels, and enter into conversation with the artists in their own creative habitat.
Visitors are invited to a very diverse artistic ecosystem: big warehouses and kitchen tables, individual studios and group studios, part-time art education institutions and organisations and or healthcare institutions that organise studio activities. Everywhere, people can be surprised by inspiring works and extraordinary workplaces.
One of the remarkable studios to discover is 't Ateljee in Bruges, a group studio housing seven visual artists. In the Berchem district of Antwerp visitors can enter the extraordinary work of Eline Van Eerdenbrugh, who draws and creates her own work and illustrations. Another special location is studio Die Neue Grizzley in a former butcher's shop in Sint-Pieters-Woluwe, Brussels.
Atelier in Beeld is organised by the Flemish non-profit organisation Kunstwerkt. All participating studios in Flanders and Brussels can be found on the website. Visits to the studios are free, and no reservations are required.
